COVID-19 Diary

I’ve never been the cause of a broken heart,

No one to hold me close and say, “I’ll never part.”
No one to assure me, “Dreams will come true,”
No one to urge, “You can do anything you put your mind to.”

No one ever told me, “I believe in you,”
No one offered help when bills were due.
No one asked why I act the way I do,
No one inquired how I coped with the blues.

No one truly asked how I’m holding up,
No one accepted a simple “good” as enough.
No one fought to truly love me,
No one grasped my silent agony.

Job hunting was never a tough chore,
I worked hard, never needing more.
Grateful to God, without a reason to ignore,
Blessed with resilience, always willing to explore.
